The Centre Board has agreed on the following strategic vision for CCIBS, which is consistent with the Centre’s core values of global responsibility, innovation, and entrepreneurship:
CCIBS will be a top international multidisciplinary research center focussed on contemporary issues in clinical care and global health needs to prevent and reduce the burden of disease, improve clinical care, and advance medical and scientific knowledge.
Our Mission
To assemble a unique multi-disciplinary team integrated with clinical care and routine diagnostic medicine and the necessary physical resources to apply the full power of contemporary scientific knowledge and methods with an emphasis on genetics, mathematics, computing and clinical and laboratory research to our vision.
Our Objectives
The overall objectives of the Centre support the achievement of the Centre’s mission and work towards the agreed vision. Therefore, the Centre’s agreed strategic objectives are to:
- Provide routine clinical and diagnostic services and identify the most pressing clinical questions;
- Conduct high quality clinical observational research addressing these questions and generate hypotheses to be tested in the laboratory;
- Translate the results of this research into clinical trials and improvements in clinical care and diagnostic services;
- Disseminate the results of this multidisciplinary research to the highest recognised international standards;
- Extend the research and generalise the benefits to clinical care and diagnostics around the world through collaboration with national and international institutes having particular areas of strength;
- Secure any intellectual property and commercial benefits to Western Australia;
